Grants to Ohio nonprofit organizations for projects and programs to benefit residents in eligible communities. Programs will be accepted in the following focus areas: education, arts, health and human services, and community enrichment. The Foundation will accept requests for capital campaigns, operating support, and program support. Eligible programs are those that benefit the residents of the Greater Dayton region.

Grants to USA and International research groups to conduct joint projects that address climate change challenges in Africa. Applicants are advised that required registration must be completed prior to applying. Funding is intended for transdisciplinary research studies by qualifying consortia that explore and propose solutions to climate change vulnerability across the continent. Proposals should include a strong and deliberate linkage between the societal and environmental aspects within global environmental challenges.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit performance organizations, nonprofit and commercial recording companies, libraries, programs, and groups for projects about the music of 20th Century American composer and musical innovator Elliot Carter. Applicants are required to register in the grant portal prior to applying. Funding is intended to support significant projects involving the performance or recording of less frequently performed or recorded works by Elliott Carter.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit and for-profit organizations, IHEs, and agencies for research related to AIDS and HIV. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to support multi-component, multi-disciplinary projects that address scientific questions relevant to AIDS prophylactic vaccine discovery research. Extensive evaluation of vaccine concepts in non-human primate models may be included.

Grant of up to $2,000 to a USA or territories Pre-K to high school educator to promote gardening among students. Funding is intended to create or expand on a school gardening project in order to encourage a love of gardening, provide gardening experience for students, and engender an interest in nature.

Grants and in-kind support to USA nonprofit organizations, agencies, and IHEs to perpetuate the legacy of twentieth-century Black architects. Eligible uses of funding include planning, capital improvements, and indirect costs. Grantees will also receive technical assistance in promotion and conservation management. The goal of the program is to empower and equip preservationists and stewards with funding and technical support to preserve the material heritage, innovation, and legacy of modern architectural sites designed by Black architects.

Grants and in-kind support to USA, Canada, and International independent researchers and researchers affiliated with IHEs, agencies, or nonprofit organizations for transdisciplinary research and collaboration to address environmental issues in the Gulf of Mexico. Research groups will meet in Santa Barbara, California and will conduct studies exploring climate change, fisheries, and ecological impact of management actions. In addition to funding to support travel, lodging, and per diem expenses, participating teams will benefit from facilities, training expertise, and cyberinfrastructure and logistical support.

Grants and in-kind donations to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations to support music programming in schools and communities. New applicants must take an eligibility quiz, and returning applicants must contact the funding source for access to the application. Funding is intended for applicants working to improve access to music education.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and tribes in multiple states for projects to prevent wildfires. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Applicants in the following states are eligible to apply: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.

Grants to USA high schools and preparatory schools to support safe and substance-free school events. Funding is intended to cover expenses associated with school-hosted events that encourage healthy choices and substance-free celebration activities after graduation or prom. Applicants must also demonstrate a financial need.

Grants of $20,000 and in-kind support to USA nonprofit organizations for capacity building. In addition to a monetary grant, awardees will also receive consultations, access to services and platforms, and publicity. Applicant organizations should advance a mission and programs dedicated to human rights, girls' and women’s empowerment, or LGBTQ+ causes.

Opportunity for USA medical students to participate in a one-year professional development program. The program will include mentoring, webinars, a weekend retreat, and participation at the annual meeting of the sponsoring organization. The Foundation focuses on nurturing a diverse group of future physicians who are dedicated to serving their communities.

Grants to Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio nonprofit organizations in eligible counties for arts and cultural initiatives. Funding is intended to support activities and programs addressing tourism, neighborhood vitality, and visitation. The goal of the funding is to leverage the arts to drive economic vitality, social vibrancy, and a connected community for all. Applicants must be based in the Cincinnati-Middletown, OH-KY-IN MSA, which includes the following counties: Brown, Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren Counties in Ohio; Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, and Pendleton Counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn, Franklin, and Ohio Counties in Indiana.

Grants of up to $2,000 to USA, Canada, and International individuals and institutions for projects exploring, presenting, and preserving Jewish history in the Southern United States. Grants are available for preservation projects, for travel to conduct research, and for the completion of projects related to Southern Jewish History.

Grants to Ohio nonprofit and for-profit organizations to promote attractions, events, and programs with the potential to increase tourism in eligible locations. Funding is intended to encourage visitors to stay overnight or extend their stay and to increase spending in the tourism industry. Activities should also promote a positive image and increased visibility of the region’s attractions, culture, and heritage. Eligible projects take place in the Chillicothe and Ross County areas.

Cooperative Agreement for a USA or Canada state and local government, IHE, nonprofit organization, or tribe in eligible areas to create a water quality monitoring system. The special focus of the monitoring will be toxic pollutants. Awardees will be expected to analyze the concentrations of contaminants in order to advance the understanding of contaminant cycling throughout food webs in the Great Lakes, and screen for emerging chemicals in fish tissue to identify priority chemicals warranting future study. Project must take place in states bordering the Great Lakes.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations, IHEs, government agencies, labor organizations, and Native American entities to provide employment reentry programs to incarcerated adults. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to eliminate the time gap between release from prison and enrollment into a workforce development reentry program leading to skills-based employment, to improve individuals' transition back into their communities, and to reduce recidivism.

Grants of up to $4,000 to USA, Canada, and International individuals and institutions for activities to preserve languages. Funding may be used for travel, equipment, consultations, and other project-related costs. Requests may be submitted for language documentation and revitalization, archival efforts, and linguistic fieldwork on endangered languages.

Opportunity for USA agricultural producers in 30 states of the Upper Midwest, Lower Midwest, MidAtlantic/Central Appalachia, Northeast, Southeast, and Hawaii regions to participate in an incentive program to incorporate agroforestry practices. Program participants will receive financial and technical assistance to implement their projects.

Cooperative Agreement for a USA or Canada agency, IHE, Tribe, or nonprofit organization to monitor and report on coastal wetlands in eligible areas. This project is part of a surveillance network to monitor water quality, and applicants must be capable of carrying out field sampling of coastal wetlands. This program is intended for the areas surrounding the Great Lakes, including the following: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Ontario (Canada), Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
