Grant Description
Grants to Oklahoma nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and eligible municipalities for projects and activities that help preserve historical landmarks and contribute to economic development in eligible regions. Funding is intended to revitalize the communities along the historic highway Route 66.

With this grant, the Commission aims to assist in undertaking impactful initiatives that will enhance the visitor experience, preserve historical landmarks, and contribute to sustainable economic development along Route 66 in Oklahoma.

Grants may be used for capital investments or a very limited number of promotional purposes. Examples of possible projects could be placemaking, facility enhancement, preservation efforts, new construction, planning, research, signage, etc.

Consideration will be given to projects that have elements of historic preservation, new construction, or projects with the greatest level of audience attraction, community enhancement, and potential for sales tax generation.

Pre-Application Information
Round 3:
• Grant opens: December 13, 2024.
• Grant closes: February 7, 2025.

Round 4:
• Grant opens: August 15, 2025.
• Grant closes: September 30, 2025.

Applicants may apply for grants in multiple cycles to complete different phases of a project.

Estimated Size of Grant
Route 66 projects request must range from $25,000 to $2 million.
